  • A small wedge of green or Savoy cabbage coarsely chopped

  • 1 medium carrot peeled and cut into 1/4 inch dice
  • 1 bay leave
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground petter
  • 2 quarts boiling water or chicken stock
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
